Deliveroo Kuwait Vaccinates Entire Fleet of Riders

Kuwait, 25 May 2021: Deliveroo Kuwait, one of the country’s leading food & groceries delivery platforms, has announced that its entire fleet is now getting vaccinated, with almost all of its delivery riders having now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccination efforts are a result of a coordinated effort between Deliveroo Kuwait and the Ministry of Health, and are a part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and a swift return to normalcy this summer.

“First and foremost, we would like to thank our riders for their continued dedication to their work, and for playing essential roles in keeping the restaurant industry moving throughout one of the most difficult periods in history,” says Seham AlHusaini, General Manager of Deliveroo Kuwait. “Throughout the past year, we have been so proud to see how many of our riders stepped up to not only deliver food safely and swiftly to our customers, but also did so as part of their larger commitment to keeping the restaurant industry up and running.”

AlHusaini continued, “We would also like to extend our deepest thanks to the Ministry of Health and to each and every frontliner — from public health workers to volunteers — who has expended enormous efforts throughout the year to ensure the collective safety of both our fleet and our customers, and for that, we are eternally grateful.”

During the course of 2020, Deliveroo Kuwait was among the first companies nation-wide to launch and implement safety measures in the interest of the collective safety of both the company’s staff and customers. Throughout the year, Deliveroo riders underwent rigorous and ongoing training in COVID-19 prevention methods, with the company launching a contactless delivery feature to give customers, riders and restaurants the confidence they need to order safely. In the interest of safety, riders were also trained to place their thermal bags open on the ground outside customers’ doors, step back at least one meter, and wait nearby for customers to collect the food before the order can be completed.

In March 2021, Deliveroo Kuwait was also named the “Best Delivery App” in Kuwait by Service Hero, in recognition of Deliveroo’s commitment to service excellence. The title was given as part of a virtual awards ceremony held by Service Hero, who celebrated the country’s best performing service providers at the 2021 Kuwait Service Hero Customer Satisfaction Index Awards.

Deliveroo has delivered hundreds of thousands of meals to hungry customers around the country. Since its launch, Deliveroo has set itself apart with its unbeatable customer service, putting thousands of hungry customers at ease from the second they launch the app to the minute they start enjoying a meal from one of its many local restaurant partners. With exclusive restaurant partners (including Five Guys, Starbucks, Super/Foods, OVO, Little Ruby’s, Thinnies, and so much more), special offers and meal deals, Deliveroo Kuwait is always here to deliver.
